If I could tell my younger running self one thing it would be to do add core and flexibility to my routine. As I approach my 64 year and 49th of running I am daily reminded of what another long time runner once said, I'm not injured, but something always hurts.
Today though I hurt, not as much as the last few weeks. I took advantage of it and made this a longer run than usual. Now 4.5 miles may not seem like much to most of you but lately my weekly runs have been in the 2-3 mile range. So this morning's 45 minute run felt refreshing tiring. There is something about a 40+ minute run that is soul cleansing and spiritually lifting.
A Proatmilk toast to running longevity!
